For over ten years, I had the honour of dressing people for one of the most intimate and powerful moments of their lives. These weren’t just wedding days. They were ceremonies of love, courage, and becoming. That journey eventually led me to build A La Eve and write this inclusive bridal fashion story.

Inclusive bridal fashion became my way of honouring people exactly as they are. I wasn’t just designing gowns. I was creating space for truth and transformation, for softness and strength.
Each journey began with questions:
Who are you?
How do you want to feel?
What do you love about yourself?
What are you hiding?
Not what fashion dictates. Not what tradition expects. Just you—an integral part of inclusive bridal fashion.
“True beauty begins when you embrace yourself without apology.”
A wedding or any ceremonial moment of connection should never ask you to shrink. Instead, it should be an invitation to expand. A moment to come home to who you truly are.
That’s why every gown I created was different. One person wanted their freckles to shine. Another chose to highlight the curve of their hips. Someone else wore a tattoo that told a story, while another refused to wear white at all.
Despite their differences, the heart of it remained the same. I wanted each of them to feel fully seen, just as they are.

And then the world paused.
During the COVID pandemic, I had to close my atelier. Surprisingly, instead of silence, something new began to grow inside me. My passion deepened. Also, the vision expanded. My creativity asked better questions about inclusive bridal fashion.
Along the way, I explored parts of myself I had long kept quiet. I discovered polyamory. Eventually, I found a community where softness and complexity were welcomed, not judged.
As I changed, my perspective on love and fashion shifted too.
It became painfully clear how much pain still lingers in the margins of tradition. Too often, queer, non-binary, polyamorous, or otherwise non-conforming people are treated as “exceptions” rather than essentials.
“Love doesn’t need permission. It only needs a place to be honoured.”
In hindsight, I now realise the signs were always present. Even before I had the words, many who came to me weren’t only searching for a dress. They were seeking a safe place to be seen and accepted.
At first, I thought it was just an individual need. However, I now understand it is systemic. And once you see that, you cannot unsee it.
Simply dressing people beautifully was no longer enough alongside inclusive bridal fashion. I knew I had to create space for everyone who wants to celebrate love—without shame, without compromise.

Then I met Thijs.
We didn’t fall in love by the book. Rather than following a script, we chose to build something new. Something real, complex, and liberating.
Together, we envisioned A La Eve. Not just as a fashion brand, but as a gentle rebellion. A celebration of all forms of love. A place where elegance and inclusivity walk hand in hand.
“The future isn’t built by fitting in. It’s built by making space.”
We created A La Eve for LGBTQIA+ couples. For those navigating polyamorous and gender-diverse relationships. And for everyone who has ever felt invisible in traditional bridal spaces.
Yet even more than that, we created it for every body, emphasising the essence of inclusive bridal fashion.
A La Eve is not just a collection. It is a promise. A space where softness is strength, and beauty belongs to all.

Each design is handmade in the Netherlands, using carefully chosen materials. Every piece is created with intention, honouring both identity and imagination.
Inclusive bridal fashion is not about trends. It is about truth. It offers a way to celebrate love without boundaries and without needing to fit a mould.
If you’ve ever felt like bridal fashion wasn’t made for you, this is your invitation to join this world of inclusive bridal fashion.
🌿 Celebrate your love without compromise.
